        Professor Dr. Amarendra Narayan Singh graduated from the University of Bihar, India in Medicine and his post graduate training was completed in the United Kingdom on scholarship. He was presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as a selected Queen’s Scholar of the Commonwealth in 1966. Professor Singh was trained in the Post-Graduate Institute of Hammersmith and the Institute of Neurology in London, England. He completed further training in Glasgow University and Bristol University before he was given the position of Consultant. He worked in England as Professor of Psychiatry and the Head of Audit and Research in Coventry. He was invited to Canada in 1970 as a Senior Child Psychiatrist in Prince Albert. At present Professor Singh is Professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology, Toxicology & Neurosciences at the Faculty of Medicine, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. He is also W.H.O. A.C.P.M. Professor in Psychosomatic Medicine & Psychopharmacology and a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Psychopharmacology at the Institute of Psychiatry and Postgraduate Medical Education & Research as well as, UNDCP Nodal Centre for Drug Abuse Prevention.

        Professor Singh’s interest in research spans across genetic receptors, early genes, epigenesis, and basic psychopharmacological research work. His clinical research is in hypertension, psychiatry, and psychosomatic medicine. He has published more than 130 articles in international scientific journals, wrote 5 books and 18 chapters in various medical books. Presentations at various conferences and congresses surpasses 350 events. Professor Singh was presented to His Royal Highness, Prince Charles at Highgrove Palace as one of the 5 best researchers in 1998. Professor Singh has also been presented with many awards throughout his career including: The Knight of Malta in 1994 as well as, The Glory of India and Hind Rattan both in 2012.

        Professor Singh is a visiting professor in the Universities of India, China, Japan, and Egypt and has 11 fellowships in national and international societies. He continues to be a Reviewer and Editorial Advisor of various medical journals.
